This section will help you to understand being a parent when your baby is in the Neonatal Unit. It will help you to get to know your baby by watching their behaviour and knowing when they are ready for communicating with you. Being with your baby is all you need to do in the first few days. Please note, some of this guidance is more relevant to preterm babies than term babies.
